I've just found a possible nova of approximately 18.7 mag (unfiltered) on my M31 images obtained this morning with the 0.43 m CDK telescope at Alnitak Remote Observatory. This guest star was also visible on images (5 × 120 s) obtained yesterday morning with the 0.51 m telescope at UDRO.

Preliminary coordinates of Vend86: 00 41 24.04 +40 49 02.8 (J2000.0).

The discovery of Vend86 has already been reported to the TOCP website as PNV J00412404+4049028.

More details will be posted here and on the TOCP website soon. The discovery will also be reported to the TNS.
